Do you Bulk Bill?
Yes, All of our Dental and General X-rays are fully bulk billed, With no cost to the patient.

 

 

 

 

Do you make appointments?
Yes. We take bookings and we also accept walk in patients.

 

  

 

How much radiation is my patient exposed to?
For a 3D scan, The patient is only exposed to 2-6 sec of radiation. The total amount of radiation is only 29 usv. This is the LOWEST radiation dose of any 3D Cone Beam Machines available. In comparison, a CT of the same area is 2100 usv. That’s 80-100 times LESS radiation.

How long before the 3D scans are back?
Your 3D scans will take between 2-4 days to be delivered to you. This will include any hardcopies you have requested, either on film or photo paper.

  

  

 

Do you give the images to the patient or do you deliver them?
We will deliver the images to you, unless you fall out of the delivery area. In this case, we would suggest the patient take the scan or that we register post them.

 

  

 

 

 

Can you email the 3D images?
The file size is too large to send via email. However, we can email the area of interest hardcopies or the 2D Pan / OPG images.

Can I have the images on CD?
Yes. The 3d volume comes on a CD with its own viewing software called ‘Wrap & Go’. Area of interest hardcopies and 2D images can also be burned to a separate CD if needed.

 

 

 

 

Can I have the images on USB?
Yes, In fact this is a much faster way to view your 3D images. Reading any information from a CD ROM will be much slower than a USB. So it’s recommended if your computer is compatible.

  

 

 

Are the images 1:1?
Yes, all 3D volumes are 1:1. Also the hardcopies supplied are printed 1:1 unless stated otherwise.

Can I use them with my implant planning software?
Yes, we can produce Dicom images which integrate with almost all 3rd Party implant software.

 

 

 

 

Can I measure on the 3D scan?
Yes. It’s very simple. Here’s How.

 

 

 

Do you provide printed or film hard copies of specific areas?
Yes. When requested on your referral, we can provide hardcopies on either photo paper or film.

Do you also do separate OPG/LAT CEPH images?
Yes we do OPG images. We currently have installed a Sirona ORTHOPHOS XG Plus 2D Digital X-ray Machine which has given us the ability of producing the highest quality FULLY Digital OPG, Lat Ceph & TMJ images.

  

  

  

 

 Are patients lying down or sitting up for the scan?
Patients stand or sit for approx 14 secs.

How long does it take?
About 14sec’s for the scan, and around 5 mins to check the images before patients may leave the practice.

  

    

  

What do I need to write on the referral?
It’s best to be as clear as possible. There is a check box for 3D Cone Beam CT, as well as the regular 2D images. If you require hardcopies, just write down the specific area in the “clinical history” section.
3D Cone Beam is also ideal mode of imaging for stones in salivary glands, airways, TMJ’s, Nasal bones, Facial bones & Sinuses.
